What exactly is Botox®?

The botulinum toxin type A used for cosmetic purposes is a natural protein. Botox® blocks the release of the messenger substance that is responsible for tensing the muscles (muscle contraction). The induced muscle relaxation causes the skin to smooth and wrinkles to disappear. For very pronounced wrinkles, botulinum toxin is often used in combination with hyaluronic acid.

Is a Botox® treatment painful?

The injection of Botox® is almost painless. We use very fine needles so that the treatment leaves practically no traces.

What does a Botox® wrinkle treatment cost?

The cost of a Botox® treatment depends on individual factors. The price varies depending on the area of application and the amount of Botox® needed. We will discuss the course of treatment and all costs in a personal consultation.

Is there anything to consider after a Botox® treatment?

In very rare cases, a slight bluish discoloration in the area of the injection site occurs for a short time after the application. These can be very well concealed with a little make-up so that the treatment does not show. On the day of treatment you should refrain from sports, sauna, sun or solarium and cosmetic treatments. There will be no reduction in your ability to work or to drive.

Are there any long-term side effects from Botox®?

After a certain time Botox® is completely broken down in the body. The effect is local and therefore does not affect the entire organism. There are no known long-term side effects from the use of Botox®.

When does the effect of Botox® occur - and how long does an application last?

The effect of Botox® develops after two to ten days. As a rule, the application lasts at least three to six months.
